When should I plan to arrive? To allow for a smooth check-in and security process, please follow guidelines provided by World Bank security and allow for ample time ahead of the event that will start at 9:00 a.m. promptly. We encourage you arrive at 8:00 a.m. Security screening and registration may take as long as 30-45 minutes in the morning. Please plan accordingly.
Will I need a form of identification? Bring government-issued photo identification
Where is the entrance to the event? Use the World Bank entrance at 1818 H Street NW, Washington, DC (if you arrive after 11:30 a.m., please enter through the main Visitor Center entrance on 18th Street)
How do I get my badge/credentials? Go through the security screening (just like “airport security screening”). All bags will be x-rayed. World Bank security will not allow large bags at the event. Check-in at Registration tables (lines according to your last name) to pick up your security pass and event name badge. Keep your name badge and security pass for both days.
Is my registration transferable? No. Name changes are not allowed due to security restrictions at the World Bank.
Is lunch provided at the conference? Yes. We will be serving lunch for all attendees from 1pm-2pm on Thursday and from 12:30-2:00pm on Friday.
Should I keep my badge/security badge for the next day? Yes. We will not be re-issuing new badges/security passes for Friday. You must hold on to your badge to get in the next day.
Will there be somewhere I can check my suitcase for the day? There will be no secure storage for bags. All bags will be x-rayed and will delay your check-in process. We strongly recommend you leave your suitcase at your hotel.
Where can I find photos/media info from this year’s event? You can find photos, press and special TT coverage material at the event website: www.transformingtransportation.org. Don’t forget to live tweet using hashtag #TTDC2014.
Can you keep my bag/umbrella/computer bag until the end of the day? No. The organizers are not liable for holding personal/valuable items.
Can someone retrieve his/her badge after regular registration hours? Yes. If you arrive after 11:30 a.m., please enter through the main Visitor Center entrance on 18th Street.
How can I ask questions/participate? Ask questions and share recommendations on white note cards that will be circulated during each session. Tweet your questions/comments to #TTDC14 Select questions will be handed to session moderators to incorporate into the sessions. You can follow the conversation on-line at @EMBARQnetwork where we will be live-tweeting the event.
Do you have any kind of daycare or is there a place you recommend? We do not have any childcare facilities at the event. We recommend you to schedule a sitter in advance. You can find a sitter available in the area at www.sittercity.com.
When is the event scheduled for next year? We don’t have a date for the event yet. We will share this information on our website as soon as we have a date planned.
